Photographer's Note

Most times my eyes are just simply brown, because I’m full of **** , but after the course of this last weekend, they’ve also taken on a shape…rectangular. With the World Cup now in full gear, my televisions had a good workout…unlike myself watching it! lol

Football, or ‘soccer’ as we call it here in the States, is continually growing in popularity…but there’s no doubt we’re still behind the rest of the world. Our four major sports of American football, baseball, basketball and hockey garner a majority of the attention…but we’re coming around, slowly but surely. I can’t profess to follow the beautiful game in detail, but I absolutely love the Eurocup and World Cup tournaments. Needless to say, my DVR will be recording every match…and in this day and age of instant information, it’s already been quite difficult NOT to see or hear of the scores before I even return home from work to watch the games!?

With the tournament on the brain right now, this picture came to mind. This shot was taken at the base of the Eiffel Tower, and although I was wrapped up with taking pictures of the tower itself, I couldn’t pass up this group of colorful fans…or should I say “jesters?” I’m not sure who they were supporting, as our caped crusaders country flag doesn’t appear to be in line with the club jersey he’s wearing…but then again, I’m a novice in the football world and don’t really know for sure??

Best of luck to all, and a personal touch for my fellow countrymen in their upcoming matches. And how about that last second goal by the Swiss today…wow! Game on!

Thanks for stopping by.
