Photographer's Note

You are on one of the bridges, which arrive at Ile St Louis. There are five bridges to arrive there; Pont de Sully Henry VI, Pont de la Tournelle, Pont St-Louis, Pont-Louis Philippe, and this Pont Marie. I used to go through Ile St- Louis everyday. Sometimes I would go through the main street there, or another day I would prefer to walk along the Seine up to the west end of the island. Either way going through the island was an experience in itself. This view that I am presenting to you today is a view of the island from almost at the end of the bridge of Pont Marie. At the end of the bridge? yes, I am on my way back to my place in the late afternoon after having spent almost an entire day in the 5th arrondissement. I wanted to see if I could make out the house where Camille Claudel used to work in her studio up to 1913. I stopped and turned around, after having come almost all the way across the bridge.
