Photographer's Note
The night is about to fall again. During the day, there were so many people in the courtyard of the Louvre. I don’t know where they went but I can now only count a few. I come to this very touristic part of Paris not to visit the museum but to enjoy the magnificent architecture, the old facades of the Louvre. During the twilight they seem to present itself with a great majesty. And after, they present themselves with illuminations. There were people leaving the courtyard hastily, but while I was there, there were only few who come into the courtyard. This image is originally taken with a B&W film in order to avoid the mixture of different light sources with different colours. Paris by night was one of the images I wanted to photograph for a long time.

Hi dear Nobu!
Very difficult light conditions, but very well arranged!
A nice composition and a very good use of B&W, fitting really well to the place and the scene, and you added a frame very elegant to finish a good work!
Have a nice day...

Salut cher Nobu
My friend Guillaum is one of the curators of Rennaissance painting here at the Louvre. He would love this romantic and atmospheric shot. I love the perspective created by the lamp posts and you chose the vertical frame well. I love this shot, one of your best in my humble opinion. Congratulations.

Well done, Nobu! Were it not for the pyramid, we might believe ourselves in the 1940s...well, those round lights along the edge are modern too, so impossible, but still...the black and white is a perfect choice and I like the brilliance of the lamps, even destroying a bit of focus there, since it tells us the time. Composition, focus excellent as always.
Yes, one could look at the buildings forever and still not see everything...

Hi Nobu,
the B/W shot is well captured with the lamppost to be a good focal point in the image. This side of Louvre,is well looking and the details of the image are seen fine.

You had made the right choise taking this in B&W, Nobu, under the hash light condition.
The famous place has it's charm even without colors.

Hi Nobu,
I think this image back in time, a great choice the B & W, a composition including the lamppost in the foreground and the POV for photographing the Louvre, I love how back in time we like the works of art showing the building
Have a great weekend
PS: I am passionate about art history so imagine how I go there and impose the city in general, walking through its narrow streets all:)

Hello Nobu-san
This looks quite unique in duotones. Like the way you composed with the lamp on the left, which creates a good focal point & balance. The tonalities are good, which makes this picture a good one!

Hi Nobu!
Great in b&w, seems almost timeless and like a painting. The composition is also very good - I really like these beautiful lamps on!

Salam Nobu,
It seems to be an old shot ; the choice of black n white n the softness of the shot made me think of that!.. good management of light in such a difficult light condition.. very well composed.. tfs
Best regards, Atousa

Hello Nobu,
I read the note to this photo with much interest.
And the photo is just great! the composition was chosen perfectly :)
Perhaps you are right that you used a B&W film... but I really wonder what it would look like in colour!
In any case, the B&W picture looks much more timeless.
kind regards,
Elena

Hello dear friend Nobu,
Another beautiful composition in Black&White showing the courtyard with only handful of people. The lamppost in the foreground definitely grabs the attention. I like the way it is standing proudly in front of this great building. I like the architecture, perspective and atmosphere. Your note is excellent.
With warm regards,
Lakshmi
