Photographer's Note
Picture of a statue of Louis XIV in front of the Louvre.
Louis XIV known as the Sun King (French: le Roi Soleil), was King of France and of Navarre. His reign, from 1643 to his death in 1715, began at the age of four is the longest documented reign of any European monarch.
Louis began personally governing France in 1661 after the death of his prime minister, the Italian Cardinal Mazarin. An adherent of the theory of the divine right of kings, which advocates the divine origin and lack of temporal restraint of monarchical rule, Louis continued his predecessors' work of creating a centralized state governed from the capital. He sought to eliminate the remnants of feudalism persisting in parts of France and, by compelling the noble elite to inhabit his lavish Palace of Versailles, succeeded in pacifying the aristocracy, many members of which had participated in the Fronde rebellion during Louis' minority.
He encouraged and benefited from the work of prominent political, military and cultural figures such as Mazarin, Colbert, Turenne and Vauban, as well as Molière, Racine, Boileau, La Fontaine, Lully, Le Brun, Rigaud, Le Vau, Mansart, Perrault and Le Nôtre.

Ciao dear Malgorzata,
Splendid B&W, composed in magistral way, in which you have played with the light in perfect way, getting a masterpiece. A photo that gives the feeling to be three-dimensional, really difficult without colors! This is one of the most interesting B&Ws that I have seen in TE. Congratulations!
Ciao, have a nice Sunday!

J'aime ton idée de cadrage, très originale et le choix du noir et blanc mais je trouve que l'ensemble manque un peu de contraste avec des tons gris un peu trop uniformes?

Hi Malgorzata
it's an interesting crop, as also the game with the diagonals that creates two worlds within the triangles, as two different plans for structure, period and style. cheers!

Hello Malgorzata,
I love the diagonal that has made the dome of the museum, an original frame and really worked ... and the statue gives an unusual touch to the photograph, seems to not have to be there in black and white are not my preference, but this well done.
Congratulations

Witaj Malgorzata!
Well hit composition. Specific viewpoint. The inclined plane modenitása, background image and the Baroque statue of unity.
The B & V are completely in place. I love the Louvre, but the French, I do not so much :-) I know they are one of Europe's most cultured nation :-)
Sincerely,
Csaba

You managed to find an original composition of this famous place and monument. It was a good idea to exploit the Pyramid to create a diagonal and focus on the statue well illuminated by a fine light. A fine and graphic B&W.
Well done,

Cześć Gosiu!
Wspaniała czarnobiała fotografia. Ta kompozycja bardzo mi sie podoba - skosna linia dzieląca obraz na dwie połowy uwidacznia podział na współczesność i historię.
Super pomysł.
