Photographer's Note
Celebration of Ganesha in Paris.
I wanted to share a photo in colours but I'm in the mood for b&w again.
"तिलक" means Tilak, in Sanskrit, and , in English, the third eye.
The tilaka symbolize the third eye, or mind's eye, that is associated with many Hindu gods and the idea of meditation and spiritual enlightenment. In the past, tilakas were usually worn by gods, priests, ascetics, or worshippers, but is now a common practice for most Hindus. (From wikipedia)

Hallo Frederic. Die interessante Komposition zeigt nur ein Detail des Ganzen. Alles Wichtige ist sichtbar. Das Photo hat künstlerische Qualität. Gut gemacht. Wolfgang.

I have the impression that the light comes out from the third eye.
Strong effect.
Tremendous eyes concentrate the attention.
Unusual and sensual photography Fred.
Magic.

very interesting composition - a full corner and (almost) nothing else...
the white area invades the scene like a splash of divine light, the boy emerges from it slowly, almost from below.
very cinematic, I like it!

An original with the way you have seen through the viewfinder and the visualization with the spasmodic blowouts in the frame..
every bit of it, fascinated

salut fred!
this is a creative approach to composition, and i like it!...
the story is indeed about eyes... the rest - is a matter of individual interpretations... good!

Hi Frederic,
Very, very clever photograph from all viewpoints. A great pun in the title - is the third eye the tilak, or does it belong to the human on the far left? I like the composition with the large body of white space on the right. Well done, Iain

Hi Fred,
Once again I feel very excited to write on it. So well managed and so focussed. A frame of your own style. The unconventional wins the stereotypes and all the rules and laws.
A great one my friend.
Have a nice time

Frederic,
Inspirational overexposure!!
Creates an alien space, which seems most appropriate here.

I have to stop for now, because of two reasons ...
Firstly: This is a photo too great for TE and of course doesn't fit here too much ...
and secondly ... I have to think about it for a moment ...
let's say 24 hours or so ...

Bonsoir Frédéric,
Un cadrage osé, délibéré qui bouscule quelques habitudes et qui fonctionne superbement.
Bravo,
Amicalement
Emmanuel
