Celebration of Ganesha in Paris.

I wanted to share a photo in colours but I'm in the mood for b&w again.

"तिलक" means Tilak, in Sanskrit, and , in English, the third eye.

The tilaka symbolize the third eye, or mind's eye, that is associated with many Hindu gods and the idea of meditation and spiritual enlightenment. In the past, tilakas were usually worn by gods, priests, ascetics, or worshippers, but is now a common practice for most Hindus. (From wikipedia)

I have the impression that the light comes out from the third eye.

very interesting composition - a full corner and (almost) nothing else...
the white area invades the scene like a splash of divine light, the boy emerges from it slowly, almost from below.
very cinematic, I like it!

Very, very clever photograph from all viewpoints. A great pun in the title - is the third eye the tilak, or does it belong to the human on the far left? I like the composition with the large body of white space on the right. Well done, Iain

Creates an alien space, which seems most appropriate here.

I have to stop for now, because of two reasons ...
Firstly: This is a photo too great for TE and of course doesn't fit here too much ...
and secondly ... I have to think about it for a moment ...
