Photographer's Note

The wood of Fontainebleau have the characteristic to rest on an old sandy layer of 35 million years; erosion released from the layers of sandstone to the original forms. Among those you can seek the formations zoomorphes: the diplodocus in the solid mass of the Three Pinions, the elephant of Larchant or the tortoise of Western Apremont.

Appointment also with the throats of Franchart, one of the site-keys of the forest; they offer a unspoilable view on the vestiges of an old Hermitage, with for horizon, the forest and the plain.
