Photographer's Note

Beaumont-en-Auge is another lovely village in the valley of the Touques, which culminated at 90m.
The town has been torn by invasions of religious wars, but it has also played an important role in the history of France.
The benedictine priory, which was founded in 1060, made famous this agricultural town. From 1733 to 1794, a milatary school was held by Jesuit who were renowned professors. The most famous of the students is a mathematician Pierre Simon Laplace , a native of Beaumont, whose statue stands in the central square.
