Photographer's Note

Wissembourg is a lovely little town in Northern Alsace. There are quite a few half-timbered houses, which are typical of this part of Europe on both sides of the Rhine. Its most notable historic inhabitant is probably exiled Stanislas Leszczynski, who had been king of Poland with the support of Swedish king Charles XII 1704-1709.

(A very farfetched connection is that king Charles spent a few years in Lund, where I took this picture.)

The picture here is an old window, which well illustrates the ambiance of the town.
