Ponts Couverts

These bridges are called the Ponts Couverts (covered bridges) and are located at the western end of the Grand Île in Strasbourg. Along with the towers, they were built in the 13th century as part of a defensive work. Despite their name, the bridges haven’t been covered anymore since 1784, when their roofs were removed.
