Photographer's Note
Petite France
Probably the most famous part of Strasbourg is Petite France, a quarter located at the western tip of the Grande Île, where the River Ill is split up in four smaller canals. The area is known for its weirs, locks and half-timbered houses. This photo was taken from Pont Saint-Martin.

Hallo Lars,
Vele groeten, Paul

Hi Lars,
I think I remember this place. Indeed a very beautiful part of the old town. Half timbered houses look great and flowing water is always a nice feature. The weather was also great when you were there.

Hej Lars,

Goed foto werk, bedankt.
Groeten uit Oost-Vlaanderen,

lars
a special localization of the old town in the islets, I presume in the floods this part of the city suffers a lot. nice image showing the façades and the other aspects of the town in this area.

Hi Lars,
Very charming array of houses, so stylish and colorful and of course next to the riverside which always is a great bonus.
It was a lovely weather day. I like the patterns on the water surface which decorate the foreground,

Hi Lars,
You have captured well the power of the current. The point of view is showing the detrails of the buildings. The light is making the colors to stand out. Have a nice day.

Hello Lars,
I wonder why it is called Little France, I wonder if it is from times when the Germans had Strasbourg.

Hi Lars,
Good capture of this beautiful city, with the bright red building at right contrasting well with the blue sky and water. Superb sharpness and pedestrian walkway adds perspective. Tfs!

This as I remember one of the most charming sight along the Ill canal, Lars, beautifully in style.
A good picture space allocation, notable the stream of water in the picture.
Have a nice new day,
Ike

Hello Lars,
The foaming water makes a very active f/g against which we can see these amazing, colourful, half-timbered houses. They are all charming yet, so very different in details!
Yours is a fine exposure of what must be one of the most photographed areas of the city!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Lars,
This whole area of Strasbourg looks like it could be the subject of paintings and postcards. The houses are beautiful, and they look great with the water in the foreground, and the sunny, blue sky. Take care!

Dag Lars
Bedankt & groetjes.
Benny
