Photographer's Note
street scene
Metz contains a mishmash of architectural layers, bearing witness to centuries of history at the crossroads of different cultures, and features a number of architectural landmarks.
The city possesses one of the largest Urban Conservation Areas in France, and more than 100 of the city's buildings are classified on the Monument Historique list.
Because of its historical and cultural background, Metz is designated as French Town of Art and History, and has been submitted on to France's UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List.
The city is famous for its yellow limestone architecture, a result of the extensive use of Jaumont stone.
The historic district has kept part of the Gallo-Roman city with Divodurum's Cardo Maximus, then called Via Scarponensis (today the Trinitaires, Taison and Serpenoise streets), and the Decumanus Maximus (today En Fournirue and d'Estrées streets).
At the Cardo and Decumanus intersection was situated the Roman forum, today the Saint-Jacques Square.

Hello Costantino,
A nice street photo with the bright stall selling roasted chestnuts catching my eyes. I like the inclusion of two persons standing perfectly in the sun. The colours and light are generally fine.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Costantino
Yummy! Hot crayfish! I'll have some of those and will leave the escargots and frogs legs for others! EDIT: They are actually chestnuts, which I tried in Turkey & were so so. This is this the 'marron' I was thinking of: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marron
The mini train engine makes a novel fast food stall! Tfs!

Colorful chestnuts lokomotive-kiosk, Costantino.
You had just enough light upon the object to distinguish from the urban scenery.

Hello Dear Costantino,
Your notes are interesting to me as well as your photograph. It's pleasing to learn that cities are caring for their history, for the benefit of later generations.
Your photograph immediately made me aware of the sunlight/shadow contrasts, the train benefitting from them, as the sunlight lifts the brightness of the colours.
The lines of the pavement are excellent guide lines, mimicking train lines (which of course are absent). They lead nicely to the young couple, moving into the scene.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Costantino,
The persons with the winter coats are eye-catching. The point of view is showing the details of cart selling marrons and of the building. The light is giving good colors rendering. Have a nice day.

Hi Costantino,
Beautiful light here well illuminating the children attraction.
It is typical for the autumn or winter to have long shades in the city.
I like the couple walking in, they add some life to the scene,

Hello dear Costantino.
A wonderful composition, with this detail of the atmosphere of the street in the sunny day, this train machine in a decorative toy version, as I read in your note, the city deserves a visit for its many emblematic buildings.
A magnificent range of colors, in very attractive tones, which give great chromaticism.
Very well done. Love it.
Have a great day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hi Costa,
The little train is the focus of this picture. Its bright colours are well captured in your photo. Do you know why a little shop selling to crayfish is shaped like a steam train? I'm sure many other people wonder about this.

I like that train engine model, is it a food kiosk?
