Photographer's Note

So it is over, the 16th Festival of Gardens has just closed its doors on "Mobiles! Gardens for a changing world "illustrated through works of'art proposed by 26 designers from around the world.

The principle of the festival is simple: the park designed by Jacques Wirtz includes 26 parcels surrounded by beech hedges and charm, about 240 square meters each.
After being selected by a jury at the end of the competition, each team is free, provided they do not exceed the budget assigned to them and deal with the theme of the year

Everything changes, everything moves, everything is going faster and faster ... Gardens Festival 2007 are in the image of this changing world: Mobiles!

The garden itself is constantly evolving: water, wind, earth, vegetation make the garden a place in constant flux. Plants climb skyward, the long grasses undulate in the wind, the seeds scatter and traveling ...

Show, the time of a festival, the multiple movements, visible or invisible, that nature offers us.
What will paces at sustainable development, noria, wind and other machines that have shaped the art of gardens?

And tomorrow? The art of gardens reflect this trend to mobility, which is now a new source of creativity and innovation for design and architecture. The landscape becomes adjustable at a glance through the rollers, pulleys, the rails ... and migrants or vacationers prevail their gardens with them ...

This year in Chaumont, the gardens were entertaining, original, surprising, poetic ... and always on the move!

The edition 2008, the 17th named, will open its doors at April 30, 2008 for a festival around "shared gardens."

Oak reaction "The Machine, Francis DELAROZIERE
And SEVE, Ville de Nantes (led by Franck COUTANT) France
This flying glass, created for Floralies de Nantes, arises in Chaumont, where she has a new mission: What is the forest of tomorrow in the Loire Valley? Global warming is going to change it?
The Aéroflorale chose to look at the case of the oak tree emblematic of our forests. The greenhouse was reported flying from his travels around the world acorns all climates.
A treadmill can improve the output boards test, too cramped lab in the greenhouse. The machine had explored the planet to gather acorns, epiphytic plants have colonized its members and legs, and clung to any medium providential.
The festival ended, thousands of these young trees will be populating the future forest suburban Nantes.
"The garden trees bleus VO'LE: Christine O'Loughlin, citing Catherine, and Michel Euvé (EBSG Architects) France
This garden was born of a reflection on the paradox that can be found talking about mobility of the garden, apparently anchored and immobile.
Each tree was chosen for its familiarity, its obvious reality. But this large branch fell during a storm n'évoque-t-elle not a man in motion? There are times when the normal order of things is disturbed, giving them a new aspect, supernatural.
As in the stories of our childhood, about Merlin the Magician will cast a spell on this garden to give it life and make it mobile.
The branches are painted blue to mark their passage into another reality. The first still leaves guess, in a reflection of the basin, their initial position
