Photographer's Note

This image will show you today is actually upside down, because it is a reflection, the capture Armançon walking along the river that surrounds part of their farmhouse, reminds me as an oil painting, so I prefer show in this position.

Semur-en-Auxois comes as a surprise in a generally monotonous route, their massive round bastions built in the fourteenth century are suddenly rising above the Pont Joly and the peaceful river Armançon.

The church of Notre Dame dates from the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, and was copied from the cathedral of Auxerre. The fragile and high walls had to be restored in the fifteenth and nineteenth century. The church contains important works of art, as the tympanum representing the legend of St. Thomas, in the north door. The windows depict the legend of St. Barbara and the work of several guilds, such as butchers and drapers.

Esta imagen que hoy os muestro es en realidad en posición invertida, pues se trata de un reflejo, la capte paseando junto al rio Armançon, que la rodea en parte de su caserio, a mi me recuerda como una pintura al oleo, por eso prefiero mostrarla en esta posición.

Semur-es-Auxois aparece como una sorpresa en una ruta en general monótona, sus macizos baluartes redondos construidos en el siglo XIV aparecen súbitamente alzándose sobre el Pont Joly y el apacible rio Armançon.

La iglesia de Notre Dame data de los siglos XIII y XIV, y fue copiada de la catedral de Auxerre. Los frágiles y altos muros tuvieron que ser restaurados en el siglo XV y XIX.
La iglesia posee significativas obras de arte, como el tímpano que representa la leyenda de santo Tomás, en la puerta norte. Las vidrieras representan la leyenda de santa Bárbara y el trabajo de varias cofradías, como los carniceros y los pañeros.

Hola Luis,

Reflections are so attractive, especially to photographers. This one is particularly attractive for the gentle ripples, slightly distorting the outlines, gives it the qualities of an impressionist painting. The rules of composition have been applied meticulously.

Wonderful reversed reflections. Like a dream world! Some parts of the reflections are more distorted than others, like the bridge at the bottom, and that makes it even more attractive. Nice framing with the branches at one side.
I never heard of this place before but it certainly looks very picturesque.

Hola Luis,
magnífica idea al invertir la imagen de los reflejos del pueblo y la iglesia sobre el río, para enfatizar este precioso efecto de pintura, con las texturas creadas por las ondulaciones del agua.
Con este sencillo proceso has obtenido una imagen poderosa visualmente, con un fuerte carácter estético.
Me gusta esta foto, has sido muy creativo con este recurso gráfico, que yo he utilizado también algunas veces.

Brilliant! Reflections are not always as easy as most people tend to believe...but you've made it appear so with this one. :) This certainly shows a creative vision and smart observation of your surroundings. Indeed, this does have the look of a painting...and also having been painted by light, enhances everything there already is to love about this shot.
