Photographer's Note

The Romanesque church of Saint Martin in Chapaiza dates from the tenth or eleventh century, the apse is beautiful, hovering over the dome surmounted by a belfry with arches Lombard type pendants and two orders of windows, the interior is sober, divided into three ships supported by rough cylindrical pillars.

This church is what remains of a priory dependent on St. Pierre de Chalon, in the seventeenth century took parish functions that were transferred from the old church of St. Leger.

La iglesia romanica de Saint Martin data de los siglos X-Xi, es hermoso el ábside, sobre el que asoma el cimborrio rematado por el campanario de tipo lombardo con arquillos colgantes y dos órdenes de vanos; el interior es sobrio, dividido en tres naves apoyadas en toscos pilares cilíndricos.

Esta iglesia es lo que queda de un priorato dependiente de Saint Pierre de Chalon, en el siglo XVII tomo las funciones parroquiales que le fueron traspasadas de la antigua iglesia de Saint Léger.
