Photographer's Note

Une vue printanière depuis la route du col du Pertus , sur la jolie vallée cantalienne de Mandailles , au pied du Puy Mary . C'est une région très pastorale , vouée à l'élevage de la vache Salers et à la fabrication de fromage (Cantal , Salers) .
Le paysage n'a pas du beaucoup changé depuis l'époque où a été prise la photo (1996 , c'est un scan) .

Le scan est d'une qualité exceptionnelle. On dirait vraiment du numérique. Une belle image profonde grâce à ces clôtures à neige appuyées sur l'arbre à l'avant plan.

A beautiful lush gren hilly scenery. I like your composition including the trees and the bundled wood to the left. I think you managed to keep the colours and sharpness excellently through the scanning process.

Hi Denis.
Fascinating landscape with this splendid green valley dotted with trees, great complement this tree trunk in the foreground, which increases the DOF with the remote and beautiful peaks, which we see as a background.
Excellent lighting and sharpness, giving an image with rich hues.

Une jolie composition mettant en valeur ce beau paysage du Cantal. Un scan de belle qualité (peut-être une petite dominante jaune?)

Hello Denis,
now this is truly lovely composed photo - my congratulations! The tree in the corner with pile of wood next to it create very strong point of interest. The green hills on the second plan change gradually into more rugged mountains. The very charming details of the picture are tiny houses and picturesque single trees scattered about the hills.
Brilliant lush colors and amazing sharpness.
