Photographer's Note

Finland | Lapland | Leppäjärvi

The meeting point of three cultures
This photo may not look spectacular but it was just wonderful to stop there and looking around us.... It was the first time we actually were in Finland. Just some kilometers between Kiruna, Sweden, and Karasjok, Norway. We travelled along the Pallas–Yllästunturi National Park where it is said that you can breath World's Cleanest Air!

We are now in Finnish Lapland... So my TE Map will be extended with Finland and it is also a little eye wink to Kari... ;)
In the WS a photo of our way of travelling... :)

The landscape of Pallas–Yllästunturi National Park is dominated by fells and the unscathed forests and wetlands surrounding them. The well-marked trails, clean and beautiful nature and varied terrain of the area provide excellent opportunities for trips and wandering in nature. The fell range in the national park is almost one hundred kilometres long in total. The picturesque, beautiful Pallas fells have been chosen as one of Finland’s national landscapes. Visitors to the national park are served by a large network of resting places and wilderness huts and the unique chain of three nature centres of the Forest and Park Service (Äkäslompolo, Pallas and Hetta).
