Photographer's Note

Lieksa is a North-Carelian town. There were 25000 inhabitants year 1975. Nowadays 12800 inhabitants.People are moving to Southern Finland to study and after studying they are seeking job from bigger towns. So are the countryside places going empty. Earlier evry people had job also in countryside, because all had made with hands. Now the machines in fields, forests and factories and even in housebuilding are making the job.
In the middle of this picture is two longer buildins made by german soldiers for warhospitals. At Lieksa area were 5000 german soldiers during the war. The russian border is 20 kilometers away from this place. After the war people bought these houses for mansions/lodgign houses.I have also lived my seven first years there. First building was dismantled year 1979. Now there is a new house. And the second was dismantled 2008.On the side is located also a new house.
The picture has taken from 50m high watertorn. Please somebody will make a workshop :)
