Photographer's Note

– In last century was there in Denmark an industry where Limun or Flax (hřr in Danish) was used for the production of linen. Actually was this industry started by peasant who crowed Linum and used the straws to produce threads, which in the end was used for weaving.

I won’t go into details – but if you visit Krengerup manor situated between Odense and Assens at Fyn can you get the whole history at the Flax-weaving museum.

This machine was the state of the art some 70 years ago (and properly is still). From a professional (computer) point of view do I like the way this “power-loom” actually programmed with cards to produce the wanted pattern. Please watch it at a close up here.
