Photographer's Note

Denmark consists of many islands (over 400) and well over 100 are inhabitant. In the last hundred years there build a lot of bridges, as replacement for boats and ferries. However its not all islands where its possible (of economic reasons) to build bridges to, so you will still be able to find a lot ferries in Danish waters.

I spotted this old ferry in the harbour of Marstal on the island Aeroe. Egeskov was build in 1937 and in use until 1999. Now it seams to be used for leisure and short trips with tourist.

It was the reflections of the blue line, which attracted my eyes - and I think my camera was able capture the extreme blue colour - but it took some shots ;-).

See the ferry Egeskov here – and please note the flag – its not Italian as it might seams, it’s the “official” flag of the island Aeroe.
