Photographer's Note

This picture is, just as my Gammel-Strand-picture, taken during a Canal Tour in Copenhagen on a cloudy day in May and gives you a view over the Harbour of Copenhagen!

The building in the middle is the new Opera-building, which was designed by Henning Larsen, the same person, who also designed the City-Library in the Swedish city of Malmö. This library can you see on another picture of mine. The Opera is built on Dokøen (Dock-Island), near Christianshavn. The Opera was a gift from the A.P. Møller Fund (A.P. Møller og Hustru Chastine Mc-Kinney Møllers Fond til almene Formaal) to the Danish state and will open in the end of January 2005 with Verdi's Aida.

Next to the Opera you can see the tower of Vor Frelsers Kirke (Church of our Saviour), which you also can see on another picture of mine.
The red roofs in front of this tower are the roofs of the old warehouses around Gammel Dok (Old Dock) in Christianshavn.
The high building next to Vor Frelsers Kirke is for them who likes to gamle, because this is Casino Copenhagen on the isle of Amager.
Finally, the ship on the left is the ferry to the Norwegian capital Oslo. Every day at 5pm, this ferry departs to Oslo.

I cropped the bottom as well as the top of this picture.
