Great Belt Bridge

When I recently posted a picture of a bridge in Portugal, I realised I had never shown this bridge either, one of the largest in the world. It is the Great Belt Bridge (Storebæltsbroen), the eastern part of the Great Belt Fixed Link (Storebæltsforbindelsen), which connects the Danish islands of Zealand (Sjælland) and Funen (Fyn). It opened in 1998 and has got the world’s fifth-longest main span (1.6 km). The towers of the bridge are 254 metres tall.
