Photographer's Note
My previous posting showed a bunch of rather grumpy looking people, as rightly noted by Liora. I thought I had to redeem the balance by going out today to find some shiny happy people. Here's a couple of them, hot off the streets.
They are crossing the bridge Dronning Louises Bro across the long stretch of lakes between the old city and the 19th century areas like Nørrebro. He's on rollerblades in case you wondered where his bicycle had gone.
The text on her sweatshirt reads "Bevar Christiania" that means "Save Christiania". Christiania is an old military area on Christianshavn that was vacated by the military in 1971 and promptly a bunch of hippies, squatters etc. moved in and declared it a freetown with the name Christiania, collective ownership to everything and grassroots this and that. Surprisingly this alternative city wasn't cleared right away and it still exists with it's good and bad sides. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Copenhagen. With the present right-wing government, talks of "normalizing" Christiania has re-surfaced, spurring a lot of pro-Christiania activism too.

You combine a good pan with a touch of romance and rebellion against society in one single shot of passing bikers. Outstanding colors and sharpness on the bikers and good amount of blur on the rest. Good job Torben, and very torben-ish.
(For non-Scandinavians - the rebellion is in the text on her sweater)

Very good panning and very special one, you added a dialog in the same frame, very good picture.

hahahaha (laughing of your comment to maciekda) it´s not true, and it can be seen on one of your winter shots... guess it´s the sunlight and spring :)
gosh, i am sure i was born in the wrong country and i see this every time i see your shots.
could you please be kind enough and explain the pp (or further explanation about how they´re sharpened and background is blurred) to this poor woman from the south of the planet???

This is wonderful. It is bizarre that the way you put the world in photographs is so different from the way I do the same thing..but I love it so. real good stuff IMO.

Bevar Christiania, about time someone said it here on TE :o) Exellent street shot, and as much as I like your more moody shots this is a welcome change. The colours are and so is the motion blur.
points tomorrow

Well well Torben - you about to learn how to catch moving motifs - Whats next - a gull ;-))
Oh no more joking - your actually done this excellent - the two young bike riders seams to have something going and your captured it. Theres also fine balance between the pedestrian and the cyclist and yes the background - fine work -
