Photographer's Note

I happened to be born a live on the same island Fyn as our famous Fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen. He was born in Odense the 2nd of April 1805 and hence he got 200 years birthday soon.
There’s a lot of celebration going now and this is my second contribution to this event. Around in the streets of Odense can 10 statues with motifs from his fairytales be seen.
And to the lady – sorry but you where at the right spot at right time.

The story about the Brave Tin Solider take place in the playroom of some siblings – one of the boys get 24 tin solders in a box – one of them got only one leg – there wasn’t enough tin and hence he becomed a little bit special - He falls in love with a pretty ballerina, made of paper.
A sad story, but also with a happy ending in a way.

I found the complete story in English here
