Photographer's Note
I was actually about to title this photo “Coming home”.
Most tourists who survived the disaster of Asian now are arriving by plane. Some with broken legs and wounds – but all with marks on there souls.
The number missing tourist from European Countries terrifying and each day the hope of finding them alive becomes smaller – This tragedy worldwide and we MUST, all help those who lost everything.

Hej Jeppe, and happy New Year. A beautiful and serene scene with the silhouettes of the flying birds, and the sun sort of vanishing into the sea. A valuable combination of photo and note to commemorate this tragedy that escapes words, and I can only fully agree with what you say about us having to do all we can in order to provide some sort of help or relief.

Hi Jeppe,
Yes, the disaster is so very :((( I follow all the news about people who are coming home now.
--------
About the picture: very good and warm atmosphere! Nice compostion with both sun, water, birds and grass. Very well done!
Only one thing: I have the feeling that it is a bit too strong, especially the contours of the sun, but that's just a small thing.
Godt Nytår!

Great picture here Jeppe and very nice note from you about all those victims. I jjust saw on TV a team of people going to Tailand to try to find the missing people among 2000 bodies...
I agree also with you that we must help...

Hello Jeppe, nothing to say but a spectacular shot. Really nicely silhouetted and the colours are fantastic. I've tried to capture birds in flight before without much sucess. This is wonderful. Don

Jeppe, indeed flying geese represent travel and migration very well, so your note is quite appropriate.
Love the colours, sun and the capture, wonder if you had considered panoramic view without the foreground grass, IMO it may improve the image and give it a feel of a long fly.

Happy new year, Jeppe! You have captured a very beautiful sunset. The sun looks really huge, and those birds flying by are wonderfully positioned in your photo. The calm water and the grass in the foreground are wonderful to look at as well! rgds.

Such a lovely photo, so beautiful and perhaps mournful, too. the birds are a bit oversharpened, Jeppe, and if redoing at some point, I would select everything but them and sharpen. Colors are evocative, and composition very effective!

An unbelievably beautiful photo, Jeppe. Imagine that you caught these two swans exactly at the moment when the sun was setting. This is one of the most Decisive Moment photos to come along in a long time. And even therred in the foreground add a lot to the composition. I am not afraid to say it: This is one of the best I have seen on TE.
And your note suits the mood of the sad begining of this new year. TFS

Jeppe, your photo reminds me to all of the victims and survivors of the tragedy and the sadness of those who will not return home.
The shot is beautiful in composition and colors, the sun reflection in the lake and those birds passing through.
Have a happy new year

A superb photo Jeppe. The colors, the composition, the timing with the birds, the position of the sun, the reflections in the water, everything works so well to make this a great one.

Lots of sun risings and settings on TE (and yes they are a beautiful subject), but yours has a nice twist. The dark sillhouetted birds with the wisps of grass in the front are great additions to the picture. I have enjoyed this capture.

Hi Jeppe
Just saw this on the TE intro page. Amazing sunset with the silhouettes of the 2 birds. THe sun is so huge. The plant in the foreground adds depth. I like the ripples on the water.
