When entering the building through the doorway it is a good idea to turn around and have a look the wrought-iron and stained glass canopy as entrance from the inside. This is the 2nd picture of a series of three.

The Municipal House was constructed in 1905 – 1911 on the former site of the royal palace between 1383 and 1485. It is located to next to the Powder Gate. In this building the proclamation of the Czechoslovak Republic was made in 1918. The interior is decorated by Czech artist such as Alfons Mucha. The Smetena Hall in the centre of the building is a concert hall with 1 200 seats. In the Municipal House there are also an Art Nouveau Café and a couple of restaurants.
