Photographer's Note

In the village of Vinařice near Kladno we can find not only the prison, but also the mining open-air museum Mayrau. The excavation of the mine began in 1874 and in 1877 a nine-meter-thick coal seam was excavated at a depth of 515.2 meters. The pits were backfilled in 1998 and since then the building has served as a museum.
