Photographer's Note

On the photo we have the interior of the Gothic chapel of St.Archangel Michael at Bezděz Castle. It was built in the 13th century by King Přemysl Otakar II. Together with the castle it is one of the most valuable monuments of the 13th century in the Czech Republic. At the time of Albrecht of Wallenstein in the 17th century the castle became a monastery and the chapel was rebuilt for his needs. The chapel is a nave with a cross vault. The monastery was closed in 1785.
