Looks like a crown, made from stone, but is a fountain from end of 15th century. Kutna Hora was then a very wealthy town, because there were rich silver mines to be exploited. But digging more and more holes in the ground led to problems with the level of groundwater, and the city could not be supplied with enough water, so they had to lead water in wooden pipes from far away. The fountain was still in use until 1890, but I think not with wooden pipes anymore

Hello Elvira,
A beautiful illuminated nocturnal photo of this old fountain in the shape of a crown. It is a pity that there is no water flowing nowadays. It would certainly make Kutna Hora more popular among tourists.

p.s. I know the work of Mendini in Groningen. Did you know that he is also one of the architects of the museum. His contribution is much praised but also often criticized.

Bonjour Elvira,

Effectivement cette structure qui est somme toute au centre de ce beau quartier ressemble vraiment à une couronne. L'illumination de nuit la met bien en valeur . La cadrage est excellent.

Hello Elvira,

This is a delightful feature to have in the centre of a town.
You are right, it resembles a crown and, by taking its photograph at night, you have been able to turn it into a twinkling crown!
The upward illumination really emphasises the relief of the carvings.
