Photographer's Note

Mangle - a machine used to mangling, ironing or using a system of rollers. Mangleing after washing are subjected to generally larger pieces of underwear - bed linen, table linen, towels, curtains, that is, the ironing would be burdensome and inefficient.

Mangle boils down to two cylinders, a length of several centimeters to over two meters, one of which is driven (by hand or electric motor) and resiliently pressed against the other. Between the two rollers is inserted into the fabric piece and the rotating cylinder to move the up and smoothing out the material. Manual unit of its kind for home use can also be used as a wringer to squeeze out excess water after washing fabrics.
