Photographer's Note

This photograph shows the Květná zahrada (The Flower Garden)in Kroměříž, central Moravia. It is taken from the top of the colonnade bounding one of the garden´s sides. The garden was founded in the second half of the 17th century, its architects were F. Luchas and G.B. Tencalla. The garden is rectangle-shaped with dimensions 185 x 300m. The main dominant is the colonnade mentioned above, among the other interesting features are several fountains, a rotunda with artificial caves (today it often serves as an exhibition hall)and many mazes and paths crossing the garden through and through. Together with the Chateau and the Podzámecká zahrada (the Podzámecká garden), the Květná garden is enlisted on the UNESCO list. You can visit it the whole year round.
