Back in Prague

I visited Prague in February 2019, but of course I didn’t mind visiting the city again last summer as a tour guide for my father. I didn’t show this tower before (only in a WS), but now in the warm light of a late summer evening here is the Prague Powder Tower.

The Powder Tower or Powder Gate (Prašná brána) one of the original city gates, located on the border of the Old Town and New Town. Construction started in 1475, when King Vladislav II of Bohemia laid the foundation stone. It was built as an attractive entrance to the city rather than as a defensive tower. In the 17th century, the gate was used to store gunpowder, hence the name.
