Photographer's Note
One in a series of pictures taken on a short trip to Prague in October 2002.
Some information about the city from Wikipedia:
Prague is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic. It is the fourteenth-largest city in the European Union. It is also the historical capital of Bohemia. Situated in the north-west of the country on the Vltava River, the city is home to about 1.3 million people, while its larger urban zone is estimated to have a population of nearly 2 million. The city has a temperate climate, with warm summers and chilly winters.
Prague has been a political, cultural, and economic centre of central Europe with waxing and waning fortunes during its 1,100-year existence. Founded during the Romanesque and flourishing by the Gothic and Renaissance eras, Prague was not only the capital of the Czech state, but also the seat of two Holy Roman Emperors and thus also the capital of the Holy Roman Empire. It was an important city to the Habsburg Monarchy and its Austro-Hungarian Empire and after World War I became the capital of Czechoslovakia. The city played major roles in the Protestant Reformation, the Thirty Years' War, and in 20th-century history, during both World Wars and the post-war Communist era.
Prague is home to a number of famous cultural attractions, many of which survived the violence and destruction of 20th-century Europe. Main attractions include the Prague Castle, the Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, the Jewish Quarter, the Lennon Wall and Petřín hill. Since 1992, the extensive historic centre of Prague has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic, which used to be joined with Slovakia until the two separated into distinct sovereign states.
The city boasts more than ten major museums, along with numerous theatres, galleries, cinemas, and other historical exhibits. A modern public transportation system connects the city. Also, it is home to a wide range of public and private schools, including Charles University. Prague is classified as an Alpha- global city according to GaWC studies, comparable to Berlin, Rome and Houston. Its rich history makes it a popular tourist destination, and the city receives more than 4.4 million international visitors annually, as of 2011 when Prague was the sixth-most-visited city in Europe. Prague ranked fifth in the Tripadvisor world list of best destinations in 2014.

Ciao Stephen
bello scatto, un taglio diverso dalle solite inquadrature di questo luogo.
Molto bella la parte con il riflesso, c'è in tocco di colore in più.
Buona giornata

Hello Stephen,
A very beautiful, river scene. The boat anchors the f/g nicely, creating a natural lead to the clock tower and the associated buildings, each with its own character. The building to the left looks particularly ornate and can be appreciated better in the Beta format.
Have a great day,
Bev :-)

Hello Stephen
Those towers are immediately recognisable. And there's one end of the Charles Bridge on the extreme left. I took a shot of this moored boat, which I think is a restaurant, quite a few years ago, from the bridge itself. I do like the gentle, almost pastel tones of this photo, and your viewpoint.

Andrew

Hi Stephen - Another attractive view of Prague. The FG detail of boat and trees give immediacy and depth to the shot and the soft colours are distinct and pretty.

Hello Stephen,
Prague is such a beautiful city although can be very crowded with tourists. It is a very popular place for UK 'Stag weekends'! I like the view down the river and the colours of the buildings. There are some very nicely caught reflections too.

Charming view at noon,(clock tower says) over a beautiful corner in Prague.
Typical towers and dome in view, combined with the fine architecture's, along the Vltava bank's.
Nicely chosen this point, well composed and light managed.

Bonsoir Stephen,
La distance entre la péniche et les immeubles donne de la profondeur à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs des immeubles. La bonne luminosité valorise les couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

An exquisite city and an equally beautiful photo to do it justice. I like the silvery colours, the light on the water and colourful boats. The turrets, the old bridge and the stonework have been detailed beautifully. Well done!
