Photographer's Note

(Still) Prague.

On the Charles Bridge.
A music-box player.
One can barely see his eyes because of some huge dark swelling just below the eyes.
Two expressions predominated on his face: indifference and exhaustion, always with a sketch of a smile.

New York, New York was the tune at the time..

Help him with a coin and he will thank you by waving with his hat.

Over 20ºC at the time, lots of tourists on the bridge, noisy crowd but the tune showed up, at least for some people.

Great choice of B&W Anton. The portrait is very expresive and the greay tones pleasant!...DOF perfect as it left the background completely out of focus!

Looks like someone didn't like his music as much as you did. I like the toning here very much, seems you have caught an interesting subject and your exposure and DOF are very good. I think the crop/composition is good, although I think a little off the top, and just a little more room behind him would possibly be better. Good shot.

Strong citypeople portrait. I think this is: A man, isolated by a big grey unpersonal city. Nobody seems to care and he seems to be happy in his thoughts. This is proof that in a grey world there's still room for a smile and happiness, he knows and most viewers would like to know..!
You captured all these elements. Good work!

He really looks disenchanted, disillusioned, resigned, ...
It's a beautiful B&W picture with a very rich palette of greys. The skin grain shows very neatly.
