Photographer's Note

Evening light is highlighting the beauty of old timbered cottages (dating from 1703) in Kuks. These cottages were originally built as houses for workers who were hired to build a spa resort on both sides of the river Elbe Earl F. A. Spork started to build it in 1692 according to the project by G. B. Alliprandi in picturesque valley which was not very suitable for agriculture as it was too swamped. On the left bank of Elbe, he built a spa facilities and on the right bank there was a beautiful baroque hospital built.

The springs had no real healing features though and the fame of the spa faded, but Kuks is still worth a visit - you can see a huge baroque sights collection in the village and there are a lot of festival held there during the year.

The picture is stitched from 3 vertical shots. And I cloned out an awful satellite dish.
