Photographer's Note

Although this is taken from Castle Tower, it gives a panoramic view of Cesky Krumlov and the surrounding farmlands rather than the castle itself. You can see the tower I was standing in here:

The river is the Vltava, which runs through Cesky Budejovice and Prague, further downstream to the north.

Your high vantage point offers a splendid perspective over this attractive town, reaching far out into the surrounding countryside. Very pleasant lights and natural colours and some agreeable light and shadow contrasts.

What an incredibly beautiful view of this town. The light was awesome here, the colours are so attractive, even the ones in the shades. Excellent vertical composition, which gives a great impression of the area, from the tower in the foreground to the green hills in the distance.

Hello Chris,
The view is amazing. It looks like a toy town with all these pretty buildings. The weather was quite amazing too. The strong light has produced very strong contrasts which must have been slightly difficult to handle. There was a fine balance between almost underexposed and almost overexposed. On the other hand these extreme contrasts, along with a very good sharpness, have given the photo a superb 3D effect. The trees on the hill, the buildings in the central area and the tower seem to jump at me.

Wonderful view from above, the town and river area shown like a painter had done a marvelous job about the place, Chris.
Despit some mist and shadows, the climb was worth the effort as the outcome is an intriguing sight.

What an extensive view!
We can see right over the river, the main town and the suburbs.
What a fine view!
I like how the curve of the river makes a good separation point between the castle and the town, for compositional purposes.
You had strong lighting contrasts which you coped with well.

Gostei muito da foto, achei esse ângulo sensacional! Nos mostra uma vista muito interessante da cidade. A torre faz um bom primeiro plano, o rio é uma parte bonita da composição que também tem as casas e as montanhas mais ao fundo. Cores e luz perfeitas.

this scene brings back alot of memories for sure! i love this view, I was here myself as well.

sweet Oct views with some autumn colors in the trees, and the lighting is very attractive up top in the frame. sweet shot all the way around with the blue sky as the icing on the cake.
