Photographer's Note

One of the canals in the delta of the Neretva river.

The Neretva river flows through Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia and empties in the Adriatic Sea. The total area of the delta is estimated at around 19,000 ha. The delta is a unique landscape, drained by a system of canals which bound a patchwork of cultivated plots, the area is an immense orchard of orange and lemon trees. In this region are grown tangerines, olives and watermelons, and in the canals can be fished eels.
