Photographer's Note

It's time for a postcard. This is from Rab, a small Croatian town on the island with the same name. I had stayed a week in September 2010 in a village on the island, just resting, and spent a couple of hours in the town before catching a bus back to the mainland.

I took this photo after climbing the steep stairs of the Romanesque bell tower of the Church of St John the Evangelist (Sveti Ivan). The bell towers you see here were built during the 16th, 15th and 11th centuries respectively.

Here is a larger version.

A wider view can be seen in the WS.

You can see the bell tower I had climbed, and the ruins of the church, by searching for the map coordinates 44.75647 14.75958.
