Photographer's Note

I am really into this scanning business. Now I am trying to resurrect my B&W films and I must say that I am reaching the conclusion that I am more of a B&W photographer than colour one.
The photo was taken on my very first trip out of Australia and of course it was an emotional one as I returned to my country of birth.
I was overjoyed to see so much snow and in Plitvice I was lucky to come across this fine horse drawn open sled which I hired to take me around parts of the national park. It was one of the experiences that I treasure. Heavy snow fell during the night and I met this coachman outside the hotel. As we rode along the tracks, being the first humans there that morning, we saw the frozen lakes covered in snow and crisscrossing this whiteness we noticed tracks of animals- both hunter and hunted. The park has wolves, bears and lynxes.
With my legs wrapped in a warm blanket, I sat beck and looking up saw snow covered tress towering over the track, making me feel as if I was in nature's own cathedral, ornate with intricate filigree. The only other time I felt that close to something Infinite was inside the Blue Mosque in Istanbul.
