Photographer's Note

The city of Omis, here captured in 1984 when there used to be a state called Yugoslavia, the land of all south-slav nations - it fell apart in 1991.
The city is 25 kms southwest of Split, Dalmatia, and her 15.000 inhabitants are mostly employed in tourism. It seems that only little has changed as Omis had a bad reputation as a pirates' nest during 14th, 15th and 16th century...
Omis is separated into two halves by Cetina river which enters the Adriatic Sea here.

Taken on film with Canon A1, scan from paper print.
