Sibenik is a city which manages to combine great glorious past and the beauty of nature. Visiting the city will definitely delight you famous cathedral of St James - the most important Renaissance monument in Croatia.

City, which recalled the kings, nature gave a wealth of islands and islets bathed in the blue of the sea, and the fascinating landscape of the National Park Krka. In Sibenik perfect harmony with each other tradition, culture, nature and hospitality of the hosts. Nice small hotels offer comfortable accommodation and good fun guarantee restaurants and taverns or discos and cafes.

Sibenik history begins in 1066, with the act of donation of King Petar Kresimir IV. After the reign of Croatian kings, to some extent, Croatian-Hungarian, Sibenik in the fifteenth century enters into nearly 400-year reign of Venice. Precisely because of this period, and this became the most important rulers of Sibenik cultural and historical monument - the famous Cathedral of St. James, which was built in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. In 1797 Sibenik becomes a part of the Habsburg Monarchy, which lasts until 1918.

Later, during the Second World War until 1944, Sibenik was under occupation. At the beginning of the Civil War, in 1991, the inhabitants of ©ibenik defended their city.
