Otok Badija II, a photo from Dubrovacko-Neretvanska, Coast

Photographer's Note

Otok Badija is an unpopulated island (Apart from the Monastery) to the east of Korcula Island. A view looking back towards the mainland and the town of Orebić, taken from the walking track that circles around the island. It's not a perfect picture postcard with the uneven lighting, (a common problem with wide angled lenses) but as there are so few shots of this place on Trekearth, I decided to post it anyway.

Hello Chris,
The screen of dark trees provides a good foreground to this view of the sea of very distinctly different colours. The two sightseeing boats are fine eye-catchers, even though this amazing scenery is eye-catching enough on its own. It's a nice composition with very good exposure.

Chris, a nice picture taken in the shade of the pine tree forest. Two pleasure boats are navigating near an island. I like the different blue of the sea. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hello Chris,

It's good to create a different view, from the f/g and those trees provide really interesting verticals, not obscuring the rich colours of the sea or the green hues of the distant island.
The boats make an immediate focal point.

You made great use of the trees in the foreground, which make a great contrast with the sunlit view of the lake, the island and the hills in the distance. The small rocks in the foreground also add a nice and attractive pattern.

Hello Chris,
I was in Korčula in 1982 and remember a walled city but no longer the island Otok Badija.
Very beautiful picture with the trees on the foreground, the fantastic colour of the water and the two small boats.
The small island is typically completely overgrown and has a rocky coastline.
I presume we see the mainland of Kroatia on the background.

The photo is fine, after all the background is the mainland so a fair distance away. We didn't go out to this small island and just stuck with walks on Korcula itself.

L'étendue de l'endroit donne de la profondeur à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des arbres et de l'île en arrière-plan. J'apprécie les différentes teintes de couleurs de l'eau. Bonne journée.

A beautiful sea view with lots of contrasts. Those few trees give a nice rhythm to this scene. That little island in the middle is quite special. And those boats wit sun shades are great details.
