Photographer's Note

Less well known than other Sofia landmarks is this charming cathedral named after a Greek female martyr, executed on order of Emperor Diocletian for refusing to renounce her Christian faith. She was in good company. St George met the same fate under the same despotic Emperor. Kyriaki is of course a Greek name and translates to 'Sunday', as she was an only child born on a Sunday.
