Photographer's Note

This is from Plovdiv, the second largest city of Bulgaria, situated in the south-central part of the country.

Two men having a friendly chat in the street, a third man maybe participating in the conversation or just listening to the others.

Judging from the sign they are standing across the street from a barbershop (frizorstvo), where men can have a haircut for 3 leva and women for 4 leva, For 8 leva you can have a manicure or a dekoratsiya, whatever that means. Maybe a total makeover?

3 Bulgarian leva equal 2 US dollars, which isn't bad for a male haircut. In Sweden it would cost roughly 15 times more. The price level in Bulgaria is possibly the lowest in Europe.

Another barbershop-related picture from Plovdiv can be seen in a workshop.
