Photographer's Note

Hristos Voskrese!
Happy Easter to everyone celebrating today!
For this reason I went trough my old photos and I found a few I made last year at the Rila monastery.
It is the biggest monastery complex in Bulgaria and probably the most visited one, included in the UNESCO world heritage list. It was established by St. Ivan Rilski in the beginning of the Xth century.
The monastery had been burned and destroyed many times during the Ottoman rule but constructed again. Nowadays it looks more like a fortress from the outside than a monastery, but that's how it was in past times.
The mural on the photo is of Christ Pantokrator and is one of the many at the outer side of the monastery church.
