Sarajevo’s City Hall – completed in 1896 and served as the seat of the city government until the end of World War II, when it became the National Library. suffered a great deal of damage in the recent (1992-1995) war. Over 2 mllions books, periodicals and documents housed there were completely destroyed.After the years of restoration, the building was re-opened on May 9, 2014 as a national monument
