Photographer's Note

This is Notre-Dame-du-Sablon in Brussels. The church was completed in 1550 and paid for by Brussels guild of crossbowmen and is in my view the most beautiful church in Brussels. The style is flamboyant, a late Gothic style that is characterised by flame-like windings of its tracery and the lengthening of pediments and the tops of arches. The church has wonderful stained glass windows.
