Photographer's Note

The Haflinger have the color of a vox with blonde hair and tail. He has a big head and eyes.
The origin of the Haflinger is not clear. People say that king Lodewijk IV from Germany, send a stallion from Burgundy to his son Lodewijk from Brandenburg as a wedding gift. He breed with this stallion and female horses from Austria. Childs of these became the Haflinger.
Other people say that de Haflinger come from horses from the East (Arabic).
The Byzantine army left the horses in the year 555 in Tyrol. This is the most likely theory.
The current Haflinger comes from the after-grandson from the Arabic Stallion El Bedavi, El Bedavi XXII and his son Follie. El Bedavi XXII come in 1868 to Austria for making better horses.

Now about the photo;
This is the same horse as “Snow Horse”, he is taken on a cold day in the Ardennes.
The horse was walking to me, he wants to look who / what I was.
I crop the image, and change the contrast.
