Don't laugh: you can ski in Belgium, and not only in the Ardennes!

Winter sports aren't what come to mind when most people think of Belgium, but the country's south-east counts many ski trails.
Belgium has 10 alpine resorts, the highest peak is only 694m, but the cross-country trails attract most visitors. The most beautiful trails are found in the Hautes-Fagnes nature reserve.
Spread along the eastern "Cantons" - the German-speaking part of Belgium - the provinces of Liege, Luxembourg and Namur possess in total over sixty cross-country skiing pistes.

The APRES-SKI in the Belgian Ardennes has a quality all of its own: the culinary specialities include and the many special beer variaties!

Hi Kris,

why should we lough? Flat planes are even better for cross country skiing then the mountains... at least less exhausting ;)

I like your composition a lot, especially the appealing contrast of the red jacket against the black and white scenary.... and a snowy picture in these too hot summer days is a real pleasure for the eyes!

PS:... and for beers I guess Belgium is a better place then the Alps...

Nice composed shot by the sketting man who wearing a red jacket...lovely surrounding atmosphere with snow covered trees...
good exposure with nice DOF controlled...nice color tone & sharpness...

No, thanks for an informative picture in TE's spirit. The picture is suitable for the note and the red jacket catches the attention well. As you say, Belgium is not at once in skiers mind when the snow arrive. So apparently you get the tracks by yourselves... No, but it seems nice to ski in Belgium. At least the tracks on the picture are nice and very tempting!

Hi Kris!
I found this one in the archive and like it a lot.
His position in the frame is perfect and I like the contrast of his red jacket with the nearly B&W landscape.
