Back to my archive 2015 a picture during a visit to the ZOO
Zoo Pairi Daiza:
Pairi Daiza (until 2009 Paradisio) is an animal park in Cambron-Casteau (Hainaut), which opened its doors on May 11 1994. The park has grown from a bird park to a full-bodied zoo. Pairi Daiza is located on the site of the former Cambron Abbey, which belonged to the Cistercian Order. There are many ruins in the park that remind you of this. Pairi Daiza means closed garden in Persian language.
In 2006, the "Dream of Han Wu Di" was opened, the largest Chinese garden in Europe, with cranes, three red pandas and coin jackets. In 2007, the Bird of prey was opened, a row of voleries with different types of birds of prey and a walk-through with vultures and other birds of prey. In 2008, Paradisio broke out with a large Indonesian area.
Since its inception, the bird park participated in various breeding programs for the conservation and protection of endangered species. For example, the Chinese government has spent two Chinese giant pandas, Hao Hao and Xing Hui, in the park for a period of 15 years.
In 2007, more than 635,000 people visited this park. In 2012 it was raised to 955,000, [4] making it the most popular zoo in Belgium. On September 1, 2013, the park welcomed the 1 million visitors of that year. In total, 1,243,000 visitors visited the park in 2013. The visitor number rose to 1.39 million in 2014. By 2015, the park received 1,767 million visitors.

Hello John,
This seems to be a zoo out of the ordinary and well worth a visit. I like the point of view with the steps rising diagonally up the frame. Well exposed with very good colours and clarity.

Hello John,
This makes me feel moved to Indonesia, although I have a suspicion that several Indonesian cultures have been represented in one place. Indonesia is a very large country. It is anyway a nice photo with many beautiful details and a fine balance between the characteristic building and the large tree.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi John,
The trees are framing well this section of the park. The point of view is showing the details of the stone decoration and of the small building. The good luminosity is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Hallo John,
Vele groeten, Paul

Hi John
Great image looks like a fabulous 'model Village' and the resemblance of a traditional house in Torajaland South Sulawesi, Indonesia. I would have played with that for hours if I was a child and I think the person adds to the scale proportion of the whole village beautifully. The bright colours, detail and contrast are wonderful along with beautiful light exposure. A first rate composition, Congrats.
Best wishes

A zoo that looks as elegant place I ever seen, John.
The styled lamps and the main wooden pavilion shown marvelously.
Good spot taken from with the logs as a border line towards the green hill.
Good afternoon,

Hello John,
this would appear to be an unusual location with many steps, slopes and distinctively designed buildings, it`s a fine shot that summarises the site very well.
Best regards Les.

Hi dear John, how are you?
A little different theme from your daily postings.
This house is from "Indonesia, Toraja", as I already visited there so many times. Very well considered frame work and getting nice lights as usual.
All the best and have a good day! Takero

Hallo John,
Een uitstekende foto van deze Chinese tuin. Het zonlicht zorgt dat de kleuren op hun best zijn en de warmer kleuren in het midden gaan mooi samen met de vele groene tinten rondom. Goede compositie ook.

Bonjour John,
Someone really likes Indonesia. I can see Toraja Houses from Celebes / Sulawesi, and the bell shaped stupas of Borobudur in central Java. Good upward pov and excellent color and sharpness. Tfs!

Dear John,
This is a very impressive Chinese Park and your note puts it into proper perspective. Although the light is mostly from behind and on the left, you did a very good job of managing the light.
Warm regards,

Hello John,
Over the years, I have altered my opinion of zoos, as the zoos themselves have altered. Now, the zoos run excellent breeding and conservation programmes as well as alerting people to the threat of extinction to a whole host of animals. They do give opportunities for youngsters to become interested in animals and therefore, fight for their welfare.
This looks like an interesting example. I like how you have led us into the scene and then used a diagonal guide to encourage our further exploration..
It looks a very natural environment with flowers, grasses and trees, not tiny cages!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

nice this foreign structure in evidence. the presence of the banana tree is surprising for me too, anyway I saw lots of them in england. I imagine they are protected during winter, this plant hate frosts.
