Castle OOSTKERKE – Damme 2020 a bicycle trip during corona time, no stops only for take a picture, no people and up a mask.
History;
The castle of the Lords of Oostkerke was located here. In 1089 the first mention was made of a Lord of Oostkerke, Dodinus van Oostkerke. From the 10th or 11th century there was already a building on this site, possibly a wooden keep. In the 13th century there was a brick keep on a rectangular plan. Den Hove van Oostkerke was first mentioned in writing in 1358. In the 14th century, a brick castle was built with an upper court, which contained the actual feudal house, and a courtyard. The supreme court was walled and had three towers. The courtyard was flanked by two large towers and included a pigeon tower and an ice house.
I hope you like it

Pozdrav.
Lepo mesto sa zelenom travom i drvecem, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom i dobrim tekstom.
Lep put i stara arhitektura u pozadini.
Zelim vam lepu i mirnu noc, sve najbolje.
Paja.

Hello John,
Every time I see a new photo from you I can't believe that it's already two days since the last one. Time flies so quickly! ;-)
This is a very nice photo. We only catch a glimpse of the castle in the background, behind the trees, but it's obvious that this is a beautiful place to live. The sign on the tree explains why you couldn't go any closer. And that was really not needed anyway. This slightly distant view gives us such a fine look at the simple road slightly winding between the trees, the hedges on both sides and the well kept lawns. The photo has fine depth and the colours are quite strong and distinct.
Best regards,
Gert

Hallo John,

Hello John, we get a glimpse of the castle through the trees, but I guess that you could go no further as the sign says Private, I think.
It's a lovely composition. I particularly like the pollarded trees.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello John, We do not see here much of the castle. But the road leading to it, with the willow trees (we have such willows typical near Warsaw) looks very attractive.
Best regards MAlgo

Hi John,
great use of the road which is so nicely decorated with the well maintained trees.
In spite of gloomy weather the colors are so vivid and eye catching.
Pleasant autumnal scene,

Hi John
Excellent composition and point of focus as it draws the eye to the secluded edifices in such a peaceful location amongst the lush verdant foliage. Beautiful arrangement with good sense of depth and excellent contrast. Very pleasing on the eye shot!
Best regards

Hello John,
You have intrigued us with this photograph!
There is a glimpse of the red castle, peeping between the trees, but it is a very beautiful setting.
The curving, textured path is a very effective guide between the trees, nicely placed off-centre.
The area looks to be resisting the effects of autumn at this time!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Een mooi zicht, John. Het kasteel is een beetje verborgen, maar er is veel mooi in de omgeving en in de foto.

Hello John,
The dual wheel tracks at right add good lead in lines and linear perspective. Good sharpness and nice repetition of the trees. We get just a glimpse of the red brick castle in the bg. A nice diffused light too. Tfs!
